PIRENÍSSIM is the name given to the product resulting from the collaboration between the six entities that, in 2012, started the project “NOUS SENDERS: un camí conjunt cap a l’ocupació a l’Alt Pirineu i Aran” (NEW PATHS: A joint path towards employment in Alt Pirineu and Aran".
This project –promoted by Conselh Generau d'Aran; Consell Comarcal de la Cerdanya, Consell Comarcal de l’Alt Urgell, Consell Comarcal de l’Alta Ribagorça, Consell Comarcal del Pallars Sobirà and Consell Comarcal del Pallars Jussà-, has benefited from a grant from the Catalan Employment Service (SOC ) and the European Social Fund, under the Financial Aid Program for Innovative Projects, regulated by Order TRE/293/2010.
NEW PATHS starts off with the intention of promoting the competitiveness of the tourism industry, a greater knowledge of the endogenous resources of the territory, the creation of economic activity -to result in the creation of jobs- and the improvement of the qualifications of all the people that make up this industry.
The PIRENÍSSIM PASS is one of the most visible results of the NEW PATHS project, and it has involved the collaboration of the six project partners as well as that of the Business and Employment Department of the Catalonian Government, the Catalan Employment Service and the European Social Fund.
PIRENÍSSIM is the result of a joint venture of the counties that make up the Alt Pirineu, and Val d'Aran: Alt Urgell, Alta Ribagorça, Cerdanya, Pallars Jussà, Pallars Sobirà and Val d'Aran.
The brand PIRENÍSSIM encompasses the gastronomical, cultural and landscape wealth of this unique territory and has a common link: the production of cheese and its derivatives.
With a range of more than 80 varieties of high quality cheese, PIRENÍSSIM is configured as a tool for the promotion of the territory, entrusted to make Pyrenean cheese known far and wide, adding value to this product along with the other appeals of the region.
